Site Reliability Engineer (all genders) - Remote first set up (within Germany)

As a Site Reliability Engineer (all genders), you'll play a vital role in ensuring seamless travel experiences for Eurowings customers by keeping our booking and marketplace platforms highly available and performant. You'll achieve this through service optimization, robust monitoring, and automating processes to enhance service resilience.

What you’ll do

  • Improving the reliability, stability, and efficiency of our systems
  • Developing automation tools for system health, availability, capacity, and performance
  • Debugging production issues across multiple levels of the stack
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to influence design for reliability, scalability, and performance
  • Participate in incident retrospectives to drive improvements and prevent reoccurrences

Our Tech Stack: Azure and various Azure services like API Management, App Services, Azure Container Apps,Terraform and Ansible, Kubernetes, Microsoft SQL, CosmosDB, Redis, Elastic Cloud, Grafana, Azure Monitor

What you`ll need 

  • Experience with Azure
  • Experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role or similar software engineering role
  • Strong knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python or Java
  • Familiarity with Elastic Cloud, Grafana, and OpsGenie
  • Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes
  • Some experience with Azure SQL Managed Instances and database optimization

Remote first set up (within Germany): We believe in a hybrid working model with a remote-first approach. This means that our company is optimized for work to be done remotely no matter where you are living in Germany. We believe in flexibility and trusted working times, so there is no standardized “quota” for on-site presence in the office. On average, our employees that lives all across Germany comes to our Cologne office 1-2 times per month for team bonding and/or selected events (i.e. for onboarding, team/company events/workshops)

Getting to know each other

If you pass the first Get2Know interview, you will be invited to a further exchange (=Peer Interview). During our Peer Fit interview, you will get to know not only your potential future team but also people from other teams. You will have the opportunity to introduce yourself, your skills as well as your field through a technical challenge. During this conversation, you will get all the information you want about the position you applied for and our company culture. If the team makes a positive decision, there will be a final interview with the leadership team.
